Monograph of Northern Mexican Crataegus (Rosaceae, subfam. Maloideae) revises the hawthorns of the region, recognizing four sections—Parvifoliae, Mexicanae, Crus-galli, and Coccineae—and describing five new series within Coccineae. The study identifies thirteen species, including six new to science, along with new subspecies, varieties, and one new name. Keys, descriptions, illustrations, and discussions of biogeography and ethnobotany provide a comprehensive treatment of Mexico’s Crataegus diversity.
