Banner Year for BRIT Press!

Four books, 11 authors, and almost 2000 pages: 2015 was a good year for BRIT Press! After receiving a record-breaking number of pre-orders, Flora of Colorado was released in May, going on to sell hundreds of copies in its first six months. Flora of Oregon Vol. 1 was hot on its heels, arriving in September and quickly becoming the go-to reference for professionals, students, and amateurs alike. Both have been adopted as classroom texts at the university level.

Two smaller, regional works (Plant Guide: Northwest Baja California, Mexico and Flora of Howell Woods) were also released in 2015 to great excitement. The former is a full-color, bilingual field guide with amazing photographs of local plants, while the latter is the first in a new series from the Illustrated Floras of North Carolina Project.

For 2016, we hope to release two additional titles in the North Carolina series as well as a long-awaited book about milkweeds and their relatives (Apocynaceae: Subfamily Asclepiadoideae)! Stay tuned!
